Dr. Vivek Mahendru is a nationally recognized leader in Pain Medicine with more than 25 years of experience delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. During his time as Chief Fellow at the Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's Hospital, he founded the first national Residents Section for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and served on the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Mahendru was appointed to chair the CPT Advisory Committee for the American Academy of Pain Medicine, where he represented pain management physicians at American Medical Association Board of Directors meetings. He has also served as a consultant to the Texas Medical Board and recently completed specialized training in the mild® Procedure.
An accomplished author, lecturer, and educator, Dr. Mahendru regularly speaks and teaches within his specialty and volunteers his expertise in underserved communities around the world.
As Medical Director, Dr. Mahendru is committed to advancing innovative, evidence-based pain care while maintaining a compassionate and cost-effective approach to treatment. He actively audits, supervises, and collaborates with providers to ensure best-in-class care and leads ongoing quality improvement initiatives through regular provider and staff review meetings.
His practice philosophy emphasizes minimally invasive solutions, functional restoration, and responsible opioid management. By prioritizing advanced interventional treatments over unnecessary surgical intervention, including avoiding spine fusion procedures when appropriate, Dr. Mahendru focuses on improving patient outcomes while reducing long-term healthcare costs and complications.
